a bicycle

07 December 2012

When David and I arrived in Zurich, we soon realized that it was quite easy to get around town with a bicycle. While we truly love public transportation (I could probably write an entire post about how wonderful it is), we both thought that bikes would probably be a bit faster and just a little more fun.

So, we set off to the flea market in search of our own. I took several bikes out for a test ride, but none really fit the idea I had of the one that I would race David home on, ride down to the lake in the summertime, or head down to the farmers market with on Saturday morning.

But as David and I turned to leave the market, that's when I saw it. The one. After riding it for just a few minutes, I knew that it was exactly what I was searching for. The dear man selling it went over the bike in detail with me, the price was negotiated (it's probably a little embarrassing how into this I got), and that was it. Welcome home, my pretty white bicycle.
