This weekend was filled with making memories that I will forever treasure. David and I hosted our first Thanksgiving and it was incredible. We even found a turkey, which had proven to be a bit difficult over here. Our dear friends from Ukraine, Sweden, Switzerland, and America joined our celebration and it was so fulfilling to see these unique cultures come together to celebrate something as simple as gratitude.
My 23rd birthday began with lunch at an incredible restaurant, where I even was able to sip on a delicious IPA (my favorite beer and something that is also very difficult to find here). The afternoon was spent riding bikes around the city with a best friend. We even caught a glimpse of the Alps, which are usually hidden behind a thick blanket of fog during this time of year. The day ended with a bonfire, good wine, and sweet friends. As I soaked in the fire's warmth, I reflected on this past year. There has been hardship, but so much more joy.. and gosh, I'm just beyond excited to see what this next year has in store.
