Hey guys! Mine name is Gentri and I blog at Gentri Lee. I'm an Aesthetician and Makeup Artist and today I'm going to show you how to pick the perfect products for your 5 minute face. Not everyone is the same, and this will help you chose what you need for YOUR specific coloring, AND keep it under 5 minutes.

1 / FOUNDATION To begin, every girl needs a good foundation. When shopping for a foundation, make sure you test it on your jawline. Most of the time you see people testing foundation on the back of their hands. Well, look at your hand, look at your face, do the colors match? Not likely. Do the same when testing for a powder or mineral foundation.
Application // Using either your (clean) fingers or a foundation brush, apply a light coating all over your face. Start on your cheeks and work your way in. Make sure you either feather off as you reach the jawline or blend it in to your neck. You want to look all one color after this step.

2 / BRONZER Next, we'll add a little contour. Pick a bronzer that is 1-2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. We want it to look like natural shadowing, not "had a fight with the spray tan".
Application // When you apply the bronzer, apply it in the shape of a "3". Start at your hair line on the outside of your forehead, swoop down to just under your cheek bones, then swoop down to the jawline. Repeat on the other side. Use your (clean) fingers or a blending brush to blend the bronzer in so it looks natural and doesn't leave you with harsh lines.

3 / BLUSH Now to add a little blush. Make sure that you are picking a color that is complementary to your skin tone. If you have a pink undertone- stick with the pink and rosy shades, those with a yellow undertone- stick with the corals and apricots, those with a blue undertone- stick with the rich and deep colors.
Application // Apply it in a check mark, starting on the cheekbones below the center of your eye, swoop and lift off up toward the temples.

4 / Mascara Mascara is a bit tricky, and it's all about finding what you like. So use disposable wands at the makeup counter to test out different mascaras. To keep your mascara lasting longer, don't pump the wand in and out of the tube. This creates air bubbles and will make it dry and clumpy.
Application // To make it look darker, apply it as your last step. This keeps any powder or eye shadow from falling on the lashes after you've applied. Apply it on the top of your lashes first because this pushes your lashes down and straightens them a bit. Then apply on the under side (the side that you can see) of your lashes second. This will coat all of your lashes and end the application process with a lift and curl.

5 / Lips Last step- apply your favorite lipstick, gloss, or chapstick.
Application // Exfoliate your lips with a soft, warm, damp, cloth by rubbing it in circles. Then apply a chapstick and let it soak in for a few minutes. If you're just a chapstick kind of girl, you're done! If you like a little color, wait until the moisturizer has soaked in, and then apply your lipstick or lip gloss. The exfoliating and moisturizing process could be done before applying your mascara, giving your moisturizer time to soak in while you're doing something else, cutting out even more time!

Like anything, applying makeup takes practice. Hold your brushes lightly and keep them clean to get the best results. You'll be looking fresh and glowing in 5 minutes! Be sure you pop on over to my blog every Friday for more skin care and beauty tips!
