Vienna: the random awesomeness

24 September 2012

St. Stephens Cathedral.. we weren't able to go inside because there was a service going on but the outside was remarkable in a very gothic cathedral kind of way.
My friend doing her thing this time & refreshment via sparkling water with a little raspberry and lemon.. yum!

A caravan of horse and buggies (I know you can only see one but there was like ten) and a smiling husband.
Looking out onto Belverdere Castle's gardens from the inside of Oberes Belverdere. The Oberes has the most incredible collection of paintings by Gustav Klimt, including one of his most famous, The Kiss. I could have sat on the little bench in front of it and just stared all day.. it was just that beautiful.
This makes me happy.
Pretty window flowers at the Stadthaus & more pretty flowers in Volksgarten
Walking through the butterfly house at Hofburg Palace. Friends, it was like a dream come true.. butterflies everywhere.
Some pretty street art.
And if all of that wasn't enough random for you, husband and I attended a performance of Mozart's Requiem and below is a little audio clip of the piece. Husband and I both played in the orchestra for several years and so attending this performance in the very city where such musical genius flourished was incredibly special for us both. Anyway, that's all from our time in Vienna. And it's time for us to say ciao Roma!
