[eight] While at Monticello, I learned a lot about Thomas Jefferson and his endeavors. But as I type this post, I realized that many of those facts have slipped my mind. What hasn't is the joy of spending the day here with my family. As you can probably tell from the second picture above, husband's family is rather large. Eleven people to be exact [in case you counted and are confused, two people are missing from said picture]. I'm here to tell you that going anywhere with eleven people is chaotic and loud and unbelievably fun. So, while I can't recall how old Thomas Jefferson was when he died or how many books he owned, what I can is the joy of exploring and learning with my family.. of simply being with them. And somehow, I'm perfectly okay with that. |
