Road trip adventures: Las Vegas

Arriving in Vegas by car goes somewhat like this ... desert, desert, desert, and then BAM! bright and colorful city out of absolutely nowhere. It was kind of awesome and kind of frightening all at the very same time. As was the entire Vegas experience.

Fountains that dance to All That Jazz? Awesome. The amount of food we consumed during our fancy buffet dinner? Frightening. But by far the best part of the whole Vegas experience. And I think that the road trip entourage would agree ... we know where our priorities lie. I'm not ashamed to admit that we probably spent close to two hours making little plates, eating them, allowing food coma to subside, repeat. We conquered that experience. Or maybe it conquered us. You can decide.

After our gluttonous dining endeavor, we [of course] walked all indulgences off to soak in all that Vegas by night has to offer. And boy does it have a lot. Colorful lights. Glitter. Street performances by Elvis and Optimus Prime [yes, the Transformer]. A winding escalator that totally blew my mind. The Venetian riviera American style. And walking. So much walking. But that's the price you pay for forcing the Vegas experience into 24 little hours. Worth it? I think, yes.
